The Stanley Tumbler is back in stock with new colors — Shop mint, tie-dye and more

There’s two types of people in the world: the ones who drink their water out of any cup they can find and the ones who are obsessed with water bottles and own too many to count. For me, I’m the latter.

Hydro Flask, Swell, YETI, Nalgene, Que, LARQ, Contingo, Camelbak — you name it, I’ve tried it. The newest brand I’ve added to my roster, you ask? Stanley.

If you’re a TikTok user, than you know exactly what water bottle I’m talking about: the popular, rarely-in-stock, Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. Tumbler that just about every influencer on your For You page probably raves about. In fact, this drinking vessel is so TikTok famous, it has its very own hashtag, #StanleyTumbler, which has more than one billion views on the platform (at the time of publication).

After months of hearing about all the hype around this tumbler, I decided to take the plunge and was lucky enough to get my hands on one. After more than a year of use, I’m still in love.

Due to popular demand, these tumblers can be almost as hard to get as Taylor Swift concert tickets but the brand often do restocks every few months (that you can get reminders about via e-mail) so snag one that way or shop similar options down below.

Every now in then, you’ll notice a few Stanley Adventure Quencher 40 oz. Tumblers are available in a shade or two at random times, so if you see one you like while reading this, snag it while you can!

Our review of the Stanley Tumbler

There’s a lot to love about this tumbler and like anything, there are a few things that maybe aren’t so lovable. Overall, I enjoy this water bottle option for at-home use due to the mass amount of liquid it holds.

What we like about the Stanley Tumbler

This double-walled, insulated tumbler is pretty great, but here are a few key qualities that make it worth writing a standalone review on it.

  • This tumbler holds a lot of water which means less trips to the water filter pitcher and more hydration. If you spend a lot of time at a desk like me, the Stanley Adventure Quencher makes it easy to stay hydrated throughout the day.
  • It keeps your beverage of choice cold for hours. Often times I’ll go to bed with cold water and wake up with sold ice cubes eight hours later at the exact temperature.
  • It’s a massive tumbler (40 oz.) but still fits inside a car cupholder due to the tapered bottom and has an adjustable top that is suitable for both right and left-handed folks.
  • It’s dishwasher safe, which means you don’t have to spend time manually scrubbing it.
  • It’s beautiful! Let’s be real, you’re probably not spending upwards of $40 on a water bottle unless you think it looks good, too. I enjoy my all-white Stanley for the sleek, minimalistic vibe but the brand sells a wide variety of colors that will fit anyone’s vibe.

What we don’t like about the Stanley Tumbler

No matter how much we love certain things, there’s always at least one aspect that you may not rave about. Here are a few cons about the Stanley Adventure Quencher.

  • It’s heavy. While I love how much liquid this tumbler can hold, that also means it gets super heavy when filled up all the way — about 1.5 pounds empty and nearly 4 pounds filled. Due to this, I rarely walk around with my Stanley but instead, keep it at my desk or around the house.
  • It’s not leakproof. This tumbler is not the one you’d want to throw in your backpack while traveling as some liquid can hang out by the straw on the lid.
  • Not travel-friendly. Due to the large handle and sometimes leaky lid, trains, planes and biking are not ideal with the Stanley Adventure Quencher since it can’t be properly stored away in a bag.

Final thoughts about the Stanley Tumbler

There’s a reason that people own dozens of these, whether that be aesthetic or capacity — we get it. While I would certainly choose another water bottle for my next plane ride when it comes to at-home use, the Stanley Adventure Quencher is my No. 1 choice and I don’t see that changing anytime soon!
