The Mets have had a quiet offseason. Nobody is picking them to make the playoffs.

The expectations for this team at the moment are somewhere in the 80-85 win range if they stay healthy.

The Mets might embrace the “underdog” mentality this year.

Mets outfielder Brandon Nimmo will be a big part of it.

The Mets outfielder, now likely a left fielder, joined Joel Sherman and Jon Heyman on “The Show” podcast to talk about their expectations, the Mets offseason and his position change.

‘The Show’ podcast with Joel Sherman & Jon Heyman:

  • ORIOLES’ BIG MOVE: Big move for the Orioles getting Corbin Burnes. Orioles should be the favorite to win the division, not the Yankees. They are the clear favorite.
  • OFFSEASON WINNERS AND LOSERS: Who are the biggest winners and losers this offseason?

  • MOVE TO LEFT FIELD: The move to left field this season and how it was presented to him. Open to making the team better no matter what the capacity is.
  • PETE ALONSO: He’s a great clubhouse guy and he wants to and should stay a Met.
  • EXPECTATIONS: Different approach this year. David Stearns wanted to do things a bit differently. Will fall to guys staying healthy. Definitely going to be the underdogs this season.
  • CARLOS MENDOZA: Have had good interactions with him. He has experience coaching in NY.
  • LIFE IN NYC: Rode the subway when he got here to see what it was like. Was a bit overwhelming at times. Lived in Long Island City for a while. Been a dream come true playing here.
