‘The Show’ Episode 66: Brewers GM Matt Arnold Talks First Place Success, David Stearns

The Brewers are rolling this season, hanging on to first place in the NL Central.

They enter Tuesday with a 2 1/2 game lead over the Cubs.

Milwaukee GM Matt Arnold was this week’s guest on “The Show” podcast with Joel Sherman to talk about it.

‘The Show’ Podcast with Joel Sherman:

  • YANKEES FUTURE: They can’t be fooled by a stretch of a good few weeks. They have to be right with Jason Dominguez. He is as important a figure to them as anyone. Has the profile of Bernie Williams.

Matt Arnold Interview:
Brewers GM

  • FIRST PLACE: Credit to ownership and everyone around him for putting things in place.
  • MARK CANHA TRADE: Has known Billy Eppler for a long time. Always fought against each other. Was excited to add a bat like Canha. Justin Jarvis is a talented pitcher they gave up.
  • DAVID STEARNS: Love him a ton. He’s going to have success wherever he goes. He leads by example. He’s someone you want to work with. He will make any situation better wherever he ends up. He has a great feel for people and he’s one of the smartest guys in the room.
  • WILLIAM CONTRERAS: He has probably been their MVP this season.
