Patrick Mahomes got family 2023 Super Bowl Airbnb — three months before game

Patrick Mahomes knew he’d be in Arizona for Super Bowl LVII before the playoffs even began.

The Kansas City Chiefs star had one of the greatest seasons by a quarterback in NFL history during the 2022 campaign, winning both the MVP of the regular season and the subsequent Super Bowl against the Philadelphia Eagles in a thrilling 38-35 victory.

In the midst of this historic season, Mahomes, knowing that the Super Bowl was going to be in Glendale, Arizona, decided to book a family Airbnb near State Farm Stadium — three months before the big game took place.

“I got a crib, like six minutes from our hotel,” Mahomes said to Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts in a conversation before the Super Bowl, which was captured in the Netflix series “Quarterback.”

Hurts asked Mahomes, “You buy a house here?”

“No, I just Airbnb’d it. Fam will stay there. I did that s–t like three months ago.”

The 27-year-old, who is playing under a 10-year, $450 million contract — with over $141 million guaranteed — was pretty excited about saving some cash on his early booking.

“I’m like, that s–t blessed up on the price,” Mahomes added.

Though Mahomes might have been confident in his — and the Chiefs’ — ability to make the Super Bowl, the booking of the Airbnb might have been twofold.

The NFL Honors was also being held in Arizona, and even three months before the awards presentation, it was likely Mahomes would be up for some major hardware.

And, indeed, the 27-year-old won the NFL’s regular season MVP after throwng for a staggering 5,250 yards with a league-leading 41 touchdowns en route to his second title with Kansas City.

Time will tell if Mahomes will place another reservation on a place before the next Super Bowl in Las Vegas.
