Patrick Mahomes’ Kentucky Derby message to Mattress Mack after costing gambler ‘millions’

Betting against superstar quarterback Patrick Mahomes is likely one of the least profitable moves a sports bettor can make.

But Jim “Mattress Mack” McIngvale has dared to bet against the two-time Super Bowl MVP in the past, and let the Chiefs quarterback hear about it on Saturday at the Kentucky Derby.

“You cost me millions betting against you,” McIngvale told Mahomes, according to a Bleacher Report video.

“You gotta be with me next time,” Mahomes rebutted while chuckling.

Mack, who once bet a ridiculous $4.5 million on the Bengals to win Super Bowl 2022, was notably burned by Mahomes and the Chiefs two years prior.

Back in 2020, Mack had a sizeable $1 million wager on the 49ers to win the Super Bowl; they would blow a 20-10 lead in the fourth quarter of that game.

Mack, the 72-year-old furniture-store magnate, has had his fair share of winning bets, however, most notably winning $75 million on the Astros’ 2022 World Series victory after placing $10 million in bets across multiple sportsbooks.

The payout was believed to be the largest in sports betting history.

Throughout his career, Mahomes hasn’t been a wise guy to fade.

He covers the spread in 52.7 percent of his games and is 9-5 against the spread in the postseason.

Mahomes and the Chiefs are the clear favorites to win Super Bowl 2024 at a consensus +600.
