Jets QB Mike White exits with forearm injury

INDIANAPOLIS – The Jets just can’t have nice things.

Backup sensation Mike White exited Thursday night’s game against the Colts after throwing a 19-yard touchdown pass with 3:37 left in the first quarter. White was officially listed as questionable to return to the game by the Jets with a forearm injury.

It appeared Colts defensive tackle DeForest Buckner hit White after he threw the touchdown pass to Elijah Moore. Doctors and trainers were looking at White’s right arm on the sideline, and he spent a long time in the blue medical tent.

Josh Johnson replaced White at quarterback. Joe Flacco, who the Jets acquired from the Eagles last week, was inactive for the second straight game.

White was 7-for-11 for 95 yards and the touchdown before exiting the game. White became an overnight star when he threw for 405 yards and three touchdowns in his first NFL start Sunday, a 34-31 win over the Bengals. White is playing in place of starter Zach Wilson, who has a right knee injury.
