The Squad’s anti-Semites carry the day among House Democrats yet again

Even if it’s only temporary, the fact remains that the Squad got House Democrats to zero out US funding for Israel’s Iron Dome — a purely defensive system that simply protects Israelis (including Arab Israelis) from the rockets that Hamas, Hezbollah and other terror groups routinely shoot at civilian areas.

Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez (D-Bx/Queens) didn’t take the lead this time: Reps. Ilhan Omar (D-Minn.) and Rashida Tlaib (D-Mich.) are the Squad members most obsessed with Israel-bashing. But AOC evidently joined in the threat to kill a bill to avoid a government shutdown unless Speaker Nancy Pelosi killed the $1 billion for Iron Dome.

One day later,  Omar  tweeted, “Don’t sell arms to anyone who violates human rights.” Her spokesman insists that wasn’t targeted at Israel, but her previous rhetoric speaks for itself.

Pelosi should’ve called the Squad’s bluff and forced every member of the far-left faction to vote to shut down the US government because they don’t like saving Israeli lives. (Would junior squaddie Rep. Jamaal Bowman dare?)

But the speaker and her allies never dare call out the left’s Israel-hate. Most famously, after a series of blatantly anti-Semitic remarks by Omar, Pelosi refused to allow a vote on censuring her, instead pushing only a broad resolution condemning anti-Semitism. And even that wound up watered down into a seven-page measure wagging fingers at a long list of hates.

Ironically, President Joe Biden just told the United Nations that US support for Israel remains unwavering. We guess the goings-on among House Democrats are just one more reality that’s escaped his notice.
